استقبلنا  ممثل الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة، سعادة الدكتور محمد الحسان، وبحثنا معه تطورات المشهد السياسي في العراق والمنطقة، فضلاً عن العلاقة بين العراق والمنظمة الأممية.أشرنا إلى حالة الاستقرار التي تحققت في العراق، وبيّنا أن ما تحقق كان بفضل تضحيات العراقيين، وصمودهم أمام الأزمات، وتصميمهم على النهوض بواقع بلدهم.أكدنا أهمية الانتخابات القادمة ومفصليتها، من حيث دورها في انتقال العراق من مرحلة الاستقرار الهش إلى مرحلة الاستقرار المستدام، وأوضحنا أن ذلك يصب في مصلحة الجميع، بما في ذلك استقرار المنطقة.وفي هذا السياق، دعونا إلى مشاركة واسعة وفاعلة وواعية في الانتخابات، مع التأكيد على ضرورة انتخاب الأصلح في القائمة الصالحة.وشددنا أيضاً على أهمية الأمن الانتخابي، وضمان حق المرشح في التعبير عن نفسه، وحق الناخب في اختيار من يراه الأصلح، بالإضافة إلى ضرورة التصدي للمال السياسي الذي يُصرف على الحملات الانتخابية.This morning, we welcomed the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General, H.E. Dr. Mohammed Al-Hassan, for discussions on political developments in Iraq and the wider region, as well as the ties between Iraq and the United Nations. We highlighted the stability achieved in Iraq, affirming that it was the result of the Iraqi people’s sacrifices, their steadfastness during crises, and their determination to advance their nation’s standing. We underscored the significance and pivotal nature of the upcoming elections, stressing their role in transitioning Iraq from a phase of fragile stability to one of lasting stability. We stated that this is an outcome that benefits all, including regional security. In this regard, we urged broad, active, and informed participation in the elections, with a focus on choosing the most capable candidates from credible lists. We further stressed the importance of electoral security, safeguarding candidates’ right to express their vision and voters’ right to select the most qualified, while also calling for firm action against the use of political money in election campaigns.
