استقبلنا القائمَ بأعمال سفارة الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية في بغداد، السفير ستيفن فاجين، حيث تناول اللقاء مستجدات الشأن السياسي المحلي والإقليمي، إضافةً إلى العلاقات الثنائية بين بغداد وواشنطن.أكدنا أن العراق حقق مكتسبات كبيرة تعزز نظامه السياسي وتقويه، وشددنا على دعم المسار الديمقراطي في البلاد، داعين إلى مشاركة واسعة وفعّالة وواعية في الانتخابات المقبلة، لما لها من أهمية في ترسيخ الاستقرار والانتقال نحو مرحلة الاستقرار المستدام.كما دعونا إلى اعتماد الحوار لحل الإشكالات العالقة داخليًا، وأكدنا أن الدستور يُشكّل أرضية مناسبة لذلك إذا تم الاحتكام إليه بروح التنازل للمصلحة الوطنية العامة وثوابت الحقوق والواجبات. وشددنا على ضرورة وحدة الخطاب والابتعاد عن الطائفية أو العنصرية والخطاب المتشنج.أوضحنا كذلك أن استقرار المنطقة ينعكس على استقرار العراق، واستقرار العراق بدوره يؤثر إيجابًا على استقرار المنطقة، معربين عن أملنا بأن تسود حالة من الهدوء في عموم المنطقة، بما يضمن مصالح الشعوب وتمكينها من التمتع بخيراتها.We met with Ambassador Steven Fagin, Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in Baghdad, to discuss latest political developments both within Iraq and across the region, as well as the state of bilateral relations between Baghdad and Washington.We affirmed that Iraq has made meaningful progress that continues to strengthen its political system. We underscored our commitment to supporting the country’s democratic trajectory and encouraged broad, active, and informed participation in the upcoming elections, given their importance in reinforcing stability and paving the way for lasting peace.We also highlighted the need to adopt dialogue as a means of resolving internal disputes, noting that the Constitution offers a suitable foundation for this, if approached with a spirit of compromise rooted in the national interest and in respect for the principles of rights and responsibilities.We stressed the importance of unified national rhetoric and the need to move away from sectarian, racist, or inflammatory language. Furthermore, we noted that regional stability has a direct impact on Iraq’s security and development, just as Iraq’s stability contributes positively to the broader region. We expressed our hope that calm will prevail across the region, allowing its peoples to safeguard their interests and benefit from their resources.
