التقينا  بسعادة السفير البريطاني في بغداد، السيد عرفان صديق، وبحثنا معه تطورات المشهد السياسي في العراق والمنطقة، إضافة إلى العلاقات الثنائية بين العراق والمملكة المتحدة.أشرنا إلى طبيعة المخاضات التي مرّ بها العراق على مدى عقود، في مواجهة الدكتاتورية ومعاناة الحروب المتعاقبة، وصولًا إلى الإرهاب بأشكاله المتعددة. وبيّنا أن الاستقرار الحالي تحقق بفضل تضحيات العراقيين من مختلف المكونات، وعلى امتداد المراحل.أكدنا أهمية الانتخابات القادمة في تعزيز الاستقرار، والانتقال به من مرحلة الاستقرار الهش إلى مرحلة الاستقرار المستدام، وأبرزنا دور هذه الممارسة في ترسيخ النظام السياسي الديمقراطي في البلاد، كما دعونا إلى مشاركة واسعة، فاعلة، وواعية في الانتخابات المقبلة.وشددنا على أن الخدمات ومشاريع الإعمار والتنمية تمثل المدخل الأساسي لتحقيق الرضا الشعبي، وأن تحقيق ذلك يُعدّ عاملًا مهمًا في تقوية النظام السياسي والتفاف المواطنين حوله، كما أكدنا دعمنا للإصلاحات الاقتصادية التي تمكّن الدولة من ترشيق الإنفاق وتوجيهه نحو الأولويات.This morning, we met with His Excellency Irfan Siddiq, the British Ambassador to Baghdad, to discuss recent political developments in Iraq and the region, as well as the state of bilateral relations between Iraq and the United Kingdom.We reflected on the difficult path Iraq has endured over the decades—from dictatorship and successive wars to the fight against terrorism in its various forms—and affirmed that the current state of stability is the result of the enduring sacrifices made by Iraqis from all segments of society across different periods.We emphasized the significance of the upcoming elections in strengthening stability and transitioning from a fragile phase to a more sustainable one. We also stressed the critical role these elections play in reinforcing Iraq’s democratic system and urged for broad, active, and informed participation.In addition, we highlighted that the delivery of essential services and advancement of reconstruction and development projects are vital to fostering public satisfaction. Achieving this, we noted, is essential to reinforcing the political system and building stronger public trust. We also reaffirmed our support for economic reforms that aim to streamline state spending and guides it toward priorities.
