التقينا في مكتبنا بسعادة السفير الياباني لدى العراق، السيد أكيرا إندو، وتبادلنا وجهات النظر حول تطورات العلاقات الثنائية بين بغداد وطوكيو. وشددنا على أهمية تطويرها وتعزيزها بما يخدم مصالح البلدين والشعبين الصديقين. كما دعونا إلى حضور أكبر للجانب الياباني في العراق من خلال الشركات والمؤسسات، وبيّنا أهمية استثمار الانطباع الإيجابي الذي يحمله العراقيون تجاه اليابان، حكومةً وشعبًا وفعالياتٍ اجتماعية واقتصادية.استعرضنا أيضًا طبيعة المشهد السياسي في العراق، وأكدنا أن الاستقرار الحالي هو ثمرة لتضحيات وإرادة الشعب العراقي العالية، وقد أفضى إلى حالة من الاستقرار السياسي والأمني والاجتماعي. وشددنا على أن العراق ماضٍ قدمًا ولا يرغب في العودة إلى المربعات التي تجاوزها.كما أوضحنا طبيعة الانتخابات المقبلة ودورها في تعزيز الاستقرار، وقلنا إن الاستقرار الحالي بحاجة إلى نقلة نوعية نحو الاستدامة، وهو أمر يرتبط بنتائج الانتخابات والمشاركة الواسعة والفاعلة والواعية فيها، وتحمل الجميع لمسؤولياتهم دون استثناء.

At our office, we received the Japanese Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Akira Endo, and exchanged views on the progress of bilateral relations between Baghdad and Tokyo. We underlined the importance of deepening and strengthening these ties in ways that serve the interests of both nations and their peoples. We also encouraged greater Japanese engagement in Iraq through companies and institutions, stressing the need to build on the positive perception Iraqis hold of Japan—its government, people, and social and economic contributions.We reviewed the political situation in Iraq, affirming that today’s stability is the product of the Iraqi people’s sacrifices and determination, which has resulted in political, security, and social steadiness. We emphasized that Iraq is moving forward and does not intend to revisit the challenges it has already overcome.We also illustrated the nature of the upcoming elections and their importance in reinforcing stability, noting that the current gains require a shift toward sustainability. We also noted that this depends on the election outcomes, broad, active, and informed participation, and a shared sense of responsibility from all parties without exception.
