التقينا بفخامة رئيس الجمهورية السابق الدكتور برهم صالح، وبحثنا تطورات المشهد السياسي في العراق والمنطقة، فضلاً عن العلاقة بين بغداد والإقليم والاستحقاقات القادمة.أكدنا أن العراق يتمتع بحالة استقرار غير مسبوقة على المستويات السياسية والاجتماعية والأمنية والاقتصادية، وهي ثمرة الدماء الطاهرة والمساعي الحثيثة للقيادات السياسية والاجتماعية في عموم البلاد ومن جميع المكونات. وأوضحنا أن الحفاظ على هذا الاستقرار والانتقال به نحو الاستدامة مسؤولية جماعية.بيّنا أهمية منهج الاعتدال والوسطية، وأثبتت التجربة أن هذا المنهج هو الأفضل في حفظ مصالح البلاد. وأشرنا إلى أحداث المنطقة الأخيرة وكيف تفاعل معها العراق مؤثراً لا متأثراً، وأدى دورًا سياسيًا وإعلاميًا وإغاثيًا في العديد من الساحات.شدّدنا على ضرورة المشاركة الواسعة والفاعلة والواعية في الانتخابات القادمة، ودعونا إلى اغتنام الفرصة التي تقدمها لتعزيز الاستقرار. كما أوضحنا أهمية التنافس على أساس البرامج والخدمات، بعيدًا عن التسقيط واستخدام المال السياسي لكسر المنافسين.دعونا كذلك إلى اعتماد الحوار لحل الإشكاليات العالقة بين الحكومة الاتحادية وحكومة الإقليم، مؤكدين أهمية الركون إلى معادلة الحقوق والواجبات، والتنازل من أجل المصلحة العامة التي تخدم الجميع.
We met with former President of the Republic Dr. Barham Salih to discuss the latest political developments in Iraq and the broader region, the relationship between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region, and the upcoming national obligations.We emphasized that Iraq is experiencing an unprecedented phase of stability across political, social, security, and economic fronts. This stability is the result of the pure sacrifices made and the tireless efforts of political and societal leaders from all components of the country. We noted that preserving this stability and transforming it into a lasting reality is a shared national responsibility.We underscored the importance of pursuing a path of moderation and centrism, which has proven—through experience—to be the most effective approach in protecting the nation’s interests. We also touched on recent regional events, noting Iraq’s role as an active and influential player rather than a passive observer. Iraq has contributed politically, through the media, and in humanitarian efforts across multiple arenas.We stressed the importance of broad, active, and informed participation in the upcoming elections and urged citizens to seize this opportunity to further strengthen national stability. We also highlighted the need for electoral competition to be based on programs and service delivery, avoiding smear campaigns and the misuse of political funds to eliminate rivals.Finally, we called for dialogue as the primary means to resolve outstanding issues between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government. We reaffirmed the need to rely on a framework of mutual rights and responsibilities and to make necessary concessions for the greater public good that benefits all.
