التقينا  سفير كندا لدى العراق، سعادة السفير كريستوفر ديفيد بيم، وبحثنا معه تطورات المشهد السياسي في العراق والمنطقة، فضلاً عن العلاقات الثنائية بين بغداد وأوتاوا، حيث أكدنا على تطويرها وتنويعها بما يخدم مصالح البلدين. وجددنا موقفنا الرافض للاعتداءات الإسرائيلية على الجمهورية الإسلامية الإيرانية، ودعونا المجتمع الدولي إلى تحمل مسؤولياته في كبح هذه التصعيدات ومنع انزلاق المنطقة والعالم إلى نزاعات أوسع.كما أكدنا على أهمية الانتخابات المقبلة، وأشرنا إلى محوريتها ومفصليتها، وحثثنا على المشاركة الفاعلة والواسعة والواعية فيها، مع التشديد على التنافس القائم على البرامج الانتخابية بعيداً عن الخطاب المتشنج. وأوضحنا حالة الاستقرار التي يشهدها العراق على الصعيدين السياسي والاقتصادي، وكذلك الاجتماعي والأمني، مع التأكيد على ضرورة تعزيزها وترسيخها لتحويلها إلى وضع دائم.Earlier today, we met with the Canadian Ambassador to Iraq, H.E. Christopher David Boehm, to discuss recent political developments in Iraq and the wider region, in addition to the state of bilateral relations between Baghdad and Ottawa. We emphasized the importance of strengthening and diversifying these ties in a manner that advances the mutual interests of both nations.We reaffirmed our rejection of the israeli assaults on the Islamic Republic of Iran and urged the international community to take responsibility in curbing such escalations and preventing the region—and the world—from being drawn into broader conflicts.We also highlighted the significance of the upcoming elections, describing them as both pivotal and defining. We called for broad, active, and informed participation, while underscoring the need for electoral competition to focus on policy platforms rather than divisive rhetoric.Finally, we pointed to the prevailing climate of political, economic, social, and security stability in Iraq, stressing the importance of reinforcing and consolidating this stability to ensure it becomes a permanent and sustainable condition.
