استقبل سماحة السيد الحكيم، رئيس تحالف قوى الدولة الوطنية، في مكتبه ببغداد، سعادة السفير البريطاني لدى العراق، السيد عرفان صديق، وبحث معه العلاقات الثنائية وسبل تطويرها بما يخدم مصالح الشعبين الصديقين.
ودعا سماحته إلى اعتماد الحوار والتفاهمات لحل مشكلات المنطقة، مشددا على أهمية استعادة الاستقرار والهدوء، ومبينا أن العراق يواجه تحديا اقتصاديا بسبب أحداث المنطقة، مشيرا إلى أهمية استثمار المرحلة لتنويع مصادر الدخل، وتنويع منافذ التصدير عبر شبكة من الأنابيب تمتد عبر البحر الأحمر والبحر المتوسط.
سماحته شدد على اعتماد الحوار في مسألة حصر السلاح بيد الدولة، وتسليم السلاح إلى هيئة الحشد الشعبي باعتبارها مؤسسة رسمية ضمن مؤسسات الدولة.
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received His Excellency the British Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Irfan Siddiq, at his office in Baghdad, and discussed with him the bilateral relations and means of developing them in a manner that serves the interests of the two friendly peoples.
H.E. called for adopting dialogue and understandings to resolve the region's problems, stressing the importance of restoring stability and calm, and indicating that Iraq faces an economic challenge due to the events in the region, pointing to the importance of investing in this phase to diversify sources of income, and diversify export outlets through a network of pipelines extending across the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea.
H.E. stressed the adoption of dialogue on the matter of confining weapons to the state, and handing over weapons to the Popular Mobilization Forces as an official institution among the institutions of the state.
