استقبل سماحة السيد الحكيم، رئيس تحالف قوى الدولة الوطنية، في مكتبه ببغداد، السيد جوشوا هاريس، القائم بأعمال السفارة الأمريكية في العراق، وبحث معه العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين، حيث شدد سماحته على أهمية تحويل الاتفاقات إلى برامج عمل تطبيقية، متمنيا للقائم بأعمال السفارة التوفيق في مهامه القادمة، بمناسبة انتهاء مهامه في العراق.
وأكد السيد الحكيم طبيعة التحديات التي تواجه العراق، عادّا التحدي الاقتصادي والسيولة المالية في مقدمة التحديات، بسبب أحداث المنطقة والتصعيد فيها، داعيا إلى اعتماد الحوار لحل الإشكالات العالقة.
ودعا سماحته إلى اعتماد لغة التفاهم والحوار وسيلة لحصر السلاح بيد الدولة، مؤكدا أن سلاح الفصائل أسهم في مواجهة داعش، وقدم آلاف الشهداء من أجل تحرير الأرض وإعادة الاستقرار، مبينا أن السلاح يسلم إلى هيئة الحشد الشعبي باعتبارها مؤسسة حكومية رسمية، ومشددا على أهمية شمول الجميع ممن ينطبق عليهم وصف حاملي السلاح خارج إطار الدولة.
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received Mr. Joshua Harris, Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Iraq, at his office in Baghdad, and discussed with him the bilateral relations between the two countries. H.E. stressed the importance of translating agreements into actionable work programs, wishing the Chargé d'Affaires success in his upcoming duties, on the occasion of the conclusion of his mission in Iraq.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem affirmed the nature of the challenges facing Iraq, considering the economic challenge and financial liquidity as foremost among these challenges, due to the events in the region and the escalation therein, calling for the adoption of dialogue to resolve the outstanding issues.
H.E. called for adopting the language of understanding and dialogue as a means to confine weapons to the state, affirming that the weapons of the factions contributed to confronting ISIS, and offered thousands of martyrs for the sake of liberating the land and restoring stability, indicating that weapons are handed over to the Popular Mobilization Forces as an official government institution, and stressing the importance of including everyone to whom the description of bearing weapons outside the framework of the state applies.
