استقبل سماحة السيد الحكيم، رئيس تحالف قوى الدولة الوطنية، صباح اليوم في مكتبه ببغداد، سعادة السيد جوشوا هاريس، القائم بالأعمال في بعثة الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية بالعراق.
جرى خلال اللقاء تداولُ العلاقات الثنائية بين بغداد وواشنطن، واستعراضُ تطورات المشهد السياسي في العراق والمنطقة، إذ أكد سماحته أن العراق قد تجاوز مرحلة الانسداد السياسي ونجح في تشكيل الحكومة وفق الاستحقاقات الدستورية.
كما أشاد سماحة السيد الحكيم بالخطوات المتخذة في مسار حصر السلاح بيد الدولة، معتبرًا إياها حقيقةً دستوريةً وقانونيةً نصّ عليها الدستور وقانون الحشد الشعبي، وطالبت بها المرجعية الدينية العليا في مناسبات عدة.
وجدّد سماحته الدعوة إلى وقف الحروب الدائرة في المنطقة، مشددًا على ضرورة التوصل إلى حلول جذرية وعادلة تُعيد الاستقرار وتحول دون التصعيد، وتصون مصالح جميع الأطراف.
وفي ختام اللقاء، استعرض الجانبان التحديات التي يواجهها العراق في المرحلة الراهنة، وفي مقدمتها التحدي الاقتصادي، مما يستوجب العمل الجاد على تنويع مصادر الدخل والخروج من نموذج الدولة الريعية، إلى جانب تنويع منافذ تصدير النفط في المدى المنظور.
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received this morning at his office in Baghdad His Excellency Mr. Joshua Harris, Chargé d'Affaires of the United States Mission to Iraq.
During the meeting, bilateral relations between Baghdad and Washington were discussed, and developments in the political landscape in Iraq and the region were reviewed, with H.E. affirming that Iraq has moved past the phase of political deadlock and succeeded in forming the government in accordance with constitutional timelines.
H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem also commended the steps taken on the path of confining weapons to state authority, describing this as a constitutional and legal reality enshrined in the constitution and the Popular Mobilization Forces law, and called for by the Supreme Religious Authority on numerous occasions.
H.E. renewed his call for a halt to the wars raging across the region, stressing the necessity of reaching comprehensive and just solutions that restore stability, prevent escalation, and safeguard the interests of all parties.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reviewed the challenges facing Iraq in the current phase, foremost among them the economic challenge, which necessitates serious work toward diversifying sources of income and moving away from the rentier state model, alongside diversifying oil export outlets in the near term.
