استقبل سماحة السيد الحكيم، رئيس تحالف قوى الدولة الوطنية، دولةَ رئيس الوزراء التركي الأسبق السيد أحمد داود أوغلو، وتبادل الطرفان وجهات النظر حول تطورات المشهد السياسي في المنطقة، فضلًا عن العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين وسبل تفعيل الاتفاقيات البينية بما يخدم مصالحهما ومصالح شعبيهما الصديقين والجارين.
وبيّن سماحته أهمية دولة بحجم تركيا بالنسبة للعراق والمنطقة، مؤكدًا أهمية أن تضطلع الدول الكبرى بدورها في خفض التصعيد واستعادة الاستقرار في المنطقة. كما بيّن أن توجه العراق جاء بعد إحراز السيادة الكاملة بإنهاء مهام التحالف الدولي لمحاربة داعش، عادًّا إنهاء مهام التحالف دليلًا على تعافي العراق، فيما شدد على انفتاح العراق على محيطه الإقليمي والدولي.
وأكد أيضًا مضيَّ العراق في معالجة مشكلة السلاح خارج إطار الدولة، مثمّنًا كل الجهود التي بُذلت في مواجهة الإرهاب الداعشي، ومؤكدًا أهمية أن تشمل المعالجة كل سلاح خارج نطاق الدولة.
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received His Excellency former Turkish Prime Minister Mr. Ahmet Davutoğlu, and the two sides exchanged views on developments in the regional political landscape, as well as the two countries' bilateral relations and ways to activate the agreements between them in a manner that serves the interests of both countries and their friendly and neighboring peoples.
H.E. highlighted the importance of a country of Turkey's stature to Iraq and the region, emphasizing the importance of major countries fulfilling their role in de-escalating tensions and restoring stability in the region. H.E. also explained that Iraq's direction came after it attained full sovereignty through the end of the mission of the International Coalition to Combat ISIS, considering the end of the coalition's mission as evidence of Iraq's recovery, while stressing Iraq's openness to its regional and international environment.
H.E. also affirmed that Iraq is moving forward in addressing the issue of weapons outside the framework of the state, expressing appreciation for all the efforts made in confronting ISIS terrorism, and emphasizing the importance of the process covering every weapon outside the framework of the state.
