استقبل سماحة السيد الحكيم، رئيس تحالف قوى الدولة الوطنية، في مكتبه مساء اليوم، رئيسَ بعثة الاتحاد الأوروبي الاستشارية لدى العراق سعادة السيد رالف شرودر.
وجرى خلال اللقاء تبادلُ وجهات النظر حول العلاقات الثنائية بين العراق ودول الاتحاد، بما يضمن مصالح الطرفين ويصون سيادة العراق.
وأكد سماحته أن العراق تجاوز مرحلةً عسيرة من الانسداد السياسي، وأوفى بالاستحقاقات الدستورية عبر اختيار الرئاسات الثلاث وتشكيل الحكومة، داعياً إلى استكمال الكابينة الوزارية باستثمار الوقت في مشاورات جادة لشغل الحقائب المتبقية بوزراء يتمتعون بالكفاءة والنزاهة والخبرة. كما جدّد دعمه لحكومة الأخ الزيدي في مسيرة مكافحة الفساد وإجراء الإصلاحات الشاملة.
وأشار سماحته إلى أن التحدي الاقتصادي والمالي يمثّل الرهانَ الأكبر أمام العراق، مؤكداً أن البلاد تمتلك إمكانات اقتصادية واعدة في قطاعات متعددة. كما أبدى ترحيبه بتوقيع مذكرة التفاهم بين الجمهورية الإسلامية الإيرانية والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، مثمّناً كل الجهود المبذولة لاستعادة الاستقرار إلى المنطقة والعالم.
وفي السياق ذاته، ثمّن سماحته الخطوات الجادة الرامية إلى حصر السلاح بيد الدولة، مؤكداً أن ذلك إجراءٌ قانوني ودستوري صريح نصّ عليه البرنامج الحكومي. وشدّد على ضرورة مواصلة مكافحة الإرهاب وتجفيف منابعه وتدمير معاقله، مع الإبقاء على اليقظة الاستخباراتية وعدم إتاحة الفرصة له لإعادة التنظيم، مستحضراً التجربة العراقية الرائدة في التصدي للإرهاب وهزيمته على جميع الجبهات.
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, received the Head of the European Union Advisory Mission to Iraq, H.E. Mr. Ralph Schröder, at his office this evening. The meeting discussed bilateral relations between Iraq and EU member states, in a manner that safeguards the interests of both parties and preserves Iraq’s sovereignty.
His Eminence affirmed that Iraq has moved past a difficult phase of political deadlock, having fulfilled its constitutional obligations through the selection of the three presidencies and the formation of the government. H.E. called for completing the ministerial cabinet by investing the remaining time in serious consultations to fill the outstanding portfolios with ministers who possess competence, integrity, and experience. H.E. also renewed his support for the government of Mr. Al-Zaidi in its pursuit of anti-corruption efforts and comprehensive reforms.
H.E. noted that the economic and financial challenge represents the greatest test facing Iraq, affirming that the country possesses considerable economic potential across multiple sectors. H.E. also welcomed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America, commending all efforts aimed at restoring stability to the region and the world.
In the same vein, H.E. commended the serious steps being taken to consolidate weapons under state authority, affirming that this is an explicit legal and constitutional measure enshrined in the government program. H.E. stressed the necessity of continuing to combat terrorism, drying up its sources, and destroying its strongholds, while maintaining intelligence vigilance and denying it any opportunity to reorganize — drawing on Iraq’s leading experience in confronting and defeating terrorism across all fronts.
