استقبل سماحة السيد الحكيم، رئيس تحالف قوى الدولة الوطنية، سعادة السفير الفرنسي في العراق السيد باتريك دوريل، بمناسبة قرب انتهاء مهامه رئيسًا لبعثة بلاده في العراق.
وشهد اللقاء مناقشة مستجدات الأوضاع السياسية في المنطقة، والعلاقة الثنائية بين العراق وفرنسا.
وأكد سماحته أهمية أن تضطلع الدول الكبرى بمسؤولياتها تجاه الأحداث في المنطقة، داعيًا إلى إيقاف التصعيد واستعادة الهدوء والاستقرار، وعادًّا الحوار السبيل الأمثل لحفظ مصالح الجميع وحقوقهم.
وعراقيًا، جدد سماحته دعمه للمسار القضائي والحكومي في مكافحة الفساد، مشددًا على ضرورة التركيز على الملفات الكبيرة والانتصار للمال العام، ومؤكدًا أهمية معالجة البنية الإدارية وسد الثغرات التي ينفذ منها الفاسدون، مشترطًا لذلك إدخال الحوكمة والأتمتة وإصلاح الواقع المصرفي.
وقال السيد الحكيم: "نهاية أيلول القادم موعد إنهاء مهام التحالف الدولي وانسحابه من العراق"، داعيًا إلى إقامة علاقات ثنائية بين العراق و بعض دول التحالف على المستويين الاقتصادي والسياسي، بما يحقق مصالح الجميع ويحفظ استقرار البلاد وسيادتها
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received His Excellency the French Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Patrick Durel, on the occasion of the end of his term as head of his country's mission to Iraq.
The meeting touched on recent political developments in the region as well as bilateral relations between Iraq and France.
H.E. stressed the importance of major powers stepping up to their responsibilities toward the events unfolding across the region, calling for an end to the escalation and a return to calm and stability, and describing dialogue as the best path to preserving the interests and rights of all parties.
On the domestic front, H.E. renewed his support for the judicial and governmental track in combating corruption, emphasizing the need to focus on major cases and stand up for public funds, while affirming the importance of addressing the administrative structure and closing the gaps corrupt actors exploit — conditioning this on introducing governance and automation and reforming the banking sector.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem said: "The international coalition's mission in Iraq comes to an end, with its withdrawal set for the close of next September," calling for bilateral relations to be built between Iraq and some coalition countries on the economic and political levels, in a way that serves everyone's interests and safeguards the country's stability and sovereignty.
