استقبل سماحة السيد الحكيم رئيس تحالف قوى الدولة الوطنية، بمكتبه في بغداد، سعادة السفير المصري لدى العراق السيد أحمد خفاجة، وبحث معه العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين والشعبين الشقيقين، والتحديات التي تواجه المنطقة، فضلاً عن التحديات التي تواجه العراق في المرحلة الحالية.
وأكد سماحته أهمية دولة بحجم مصر في المنظومة العربية والإسلامية، لما لها من مكانة وإرث حضاري وثقافي، داعياً إلى استثمار المشتركات بين البلدين بما يخدم المصالح المشتركة والقضايا الحقة للبلدين، ومشدداً على أهمية الاستفادة من التجربة المصرية في إعادة البناء والإعمار.
وأكد سماحة السيد الحكيم على ضرورة استعادة الاستقرار في المنطقة، وإيقاف التصعيد واستبداله بالحوار والتفاهم، مشيراً إلى الضرر الذي لحق بالعراق نتيجة هذا التصعيد، من حيث تراجع إنتاج النفط وتصديره الذي يمثل النسبة الأكبر من الإيرادات العراقية، مشيراً إلى أهمية تنويع الاقتصاد وتنويع منافذ تصدير النفط عبر البحرين الأحمر والأبيض المتوسط.
كما أشار سماحته إلى أهمية حصر السلاح بيد الدولة وفق توقيتات وآليات عراقية، كون الملف مطلباً عراقياً وحقيقة دستورية، مشيداً بالجهود والتضحيات التي بُذلت في مواجهة الإرهاب واستعادة الأرض والدولة.
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received, at his office in Baghdad, His Excellency the Egyptian Ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Ahmed Khafagy, and discussed with him the bilateral relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, the challenges facing the region, as well as the challenges facing Iraq in the current phase.
H.E. affirmed the importance of a state the size of Egypt within the Arab and Islamic system, given its standing and civilizational and cultural heritage, calling for capitalizing on the commonalities between the two countries in a manner that serves the shared interests and just causes of both countries, and stressing the importance of benefiting from Egypt's experience in reconstruction and rebuilding.
H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem affirmed the necessity of restoring stability in the region, halting the escalation and replacing it with dialogue and understanding, pointing to the damage sustained by Iraq as a result of this escalation, in terms of the decline in oil production and export, which represents the largest share of Iraqi revenues, and pointing to the importance of diversifying the economy and diversifying the outlets for oil exports through the Red Sea and the Mediterranean.
H.E. also pointed to the importance of restricting weapons to the hands of the state in accordance with Iraqi timelines and mechanisms, given that this file is an Iraqi demand and a constitutional reality, commending the efforts and sacrifices made in confronting terrorism and restoring the land and the state.
